An easy adjustment also permits the user to view the action in slow motion to study interacting parts. The DS-12V can also be used as a remote electronic digital tachometer for direct speed measurements (RPM) without using special reflective tape or markings. RPM results are updated and recorded approximately every half second on the large 5 digit LED display. The optional 12V 8AH battery pack/charger with its carrying case with strap can be connected to the stroboscope and provides up to 3 hours of continuous use before another charge is required. The DS-12V is connected to the battery pack via a 6 foot cable which allows comfortable one-hand operation. The DS-12V may also be used with the optional PAC-12V adaptor/charger for continuous operation when plugged into any 120 VAC, 60 Hz outlet. To use the DS-12V, simply aim at the target object and squeeze the trigger located in the comfortable pistol grip handle; strobe continues to flash as long as trigger is depressed. For continuous periods of operation, trigger can be locked into position by pressing the trigger lock button. A single, multi-turn control knob located below the display provides continuous speed selection over the 0 to 12,000 FPM (RPM) range.
