The Models DT-311A (115 VAC or 220 VAC, 50/60 Hz) and DT-315A Stroboscopes are versatile instruments widely used in nearly all industries. They are designed for observing rotating, reciprocating or linear movement of different types of equipment for prevention of possible failure. The Models DT-311A and DT-315A feature phase shifting and delay features, in addition to external triggering and synchronous output signal for flashing more than one strobe at the same time. These strobes are used for quality control, motion analysis, maintenance procedures, experiments in engineering, product line checks, examination and speed measurement of vibrating parts, oil leaks, liquid spray patterns, and many other industrial and scientific operations.
Both models are microprocessor-controlled, which guarantees operational stability in temperature varying environments. Display is updated every 0.2 seconds on internal mode and every 1 second in external mode. These strobes incorporate several unique features like push on/push off power switch, external trigger capability, synchronous output signal to drive other equipment including other strobes of its own kind, membrane push button selected for FPM (phase shift) in degrees or delay time in ms., a membrane push button that doubles the flashing and display rate with just one activation, a membrane push button that divides the flashing and display rate with just a single touch, membrane push buttons that increase or decrease the phase shift by one degree per excitation from 0-359° or 0-300 ms. A movement of 80° clockwise or counter-clockwise of the outer control knob gets the operator quickly to the approximate desired rate. The knob returns to its "rest" position when released. Then through a continuous control mechanism, the flashing rate is set at exactly the right number. A combination of a xenon flash tube and a parabolic reflector provide maximum natural light output.
The Model DT-311A is AC powered; the DT-315A is powered by a set of 9.6V rechargeable batteries. The Model DT-315 comes in two versions, Model 315A which has total portability with its own internal power supply. Powered by rechargeable batteries located inside its rugged aluminum housing, the DT-315A also functions as an AC line-powered strobe when plugged into its standard AC adapter/charger unit.
The Model DT-315AEB is a truly portable unit, the DT-315AEB operates independent of line power via an exterior battery pack that can be carried with a convenient shoulder harness or set down to allow the operator full movement for visual inspection. When fully charged, rechargeable batteries power the strobe for approximately 4 continuous hours.
